Ang Iligan City Police Office  misigurong luwas ang dapit gipahigayonan sa kalihokan.

Giturn-over sab ni Mayor Siao ug  sa City Engineers Office ngadto sa komunidad ang bag-ong Tribal House. Sa Tribal House gihimo ang ritwal sa "panguloambit"  ug paghalad sa "asiwa" pagprotektar sa tanan nga nitambong sa programa.

Gracing the ceremony as 𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 was 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗰. 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗡. 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀, Civil Defense Administrator of the Office of Civil Defense who emphasized the crucial role of preparedness, collaboration, and community-driven resilience in safeguarding lives.

This recognition gathering highlights the unwavering dedication of local 𝗗𝗥𝗥𝗠 officers who continue to work tirelessly, often behind the scenes: to ensure safer, stronger, and more disaster-ready communities.

Asenso Iliganon is not just about the progress of the city.

It is about bringing real change into the lives of every Iliganon—especially those who live far from the city center.

Even before 2010, long before politics, titles, or positions, I was already going up to Sitio Limunsudan, Barangay Rogongon, the farthest community of Iligan City. There, I saw how hard life truly was. Schools were once made of nipa huts, government services were limited, and peace and order had not yet fully reached the area. But despite all these, the people never lost their strength and dignity.

Over the years, Sitio Limunsudan did not remain just a place I visited—it became family. I saw kids grow into teenagers, teenagers build their own families, and today, I see children reaching their dreams a little easier than before, because opportunities are now closer to them.

One of the hardest moments that deeply affected me was during Typhoon Sendong. Many of the casualties came from this sitio. Being far from the city, they were among the last to receive help. That painful reality left a lasting mark on me. From that moment on, I made a personal promise: they may not always be first, but they will never again be taken for granted. Siguraduhon nako nga ampingan ug atimanon gyud sila sa gobyerno.

Today, we see Asenso Iliganon in ways that truly matter to people’s daily lives:

Concrete classrooms have replaced nipa huts, giving children a safer place to learn

A more peaceful community, with the presence of police and military forces

Regular government services now reaching the sitio

And a transport service going down to the city, making access to education, health care, and opportunities easier and safer

This year, I chose to celebrate my birthday with the people of Sitio Limunsudan.

We brought free tuli, haircut and beautification services, medical check-ups with free medicines, ear piercing, and civil registrations for birth, marriage, and death. With the help of our SK Federation, we also distributed free slippers. To truly make it a celebration, especially for the children, we prepared party bags with treats and toys, hygiene kits, and school supplies. Makita gyud sa ilang mga ngisi ug kalipay nga dili lang serbisyo ang among gidala, kundili pagtagad, paglaum, ug kadasig. 🎈🎁

This is not just an outreach activity. This is Asenso Iliganon in action—progress that is felt in the classroom, in the home, in access to health care, and in the dignity of every family.

As long as I am given the opportunity to serve, this promise will continue. Because true progress is not measured by how far a city grows, but by how many lives are uplifted along the way.

Asenso Iliganon. Serbisyo una. The people are family. 💙

Karong adlawa, I had the privilege to meet with the passionate team behind Project RISE (Reading Initiatives with Stakeholders Engagement) of MSU-IIT College of Education. Ilang gipakita nga proposal truly aligns with our vision of giving every Iliganon child a brighter, stronger future.

One of the most exciting initiatives is the plan for a Fully Equipped Mobile Library Bus—usa ka traveling, learner-centered literacy hub nga muabot gyud mismo sa atong coastal ug low-income communities. This means books, storytelling corners, phonics kits, digital learning tools, and interactive reading materials i-deliver diretso sa mga eskwelahan ug barangay.

Pinaagi niini, we aim to:

✔️ Improve reading proficiency among Grades 1–3 learners

✔️ Expand direct access to quality books and learning materials

✔️ Support teachers with better and evidence-based reading instruction tools

✔️ Provide fun, hands-on learning kits and storybooks in English, Filipino, and mother tongue

✔️ Encourage a strong reading culture within our communities

As your Mayor, committed ko nga palig-onon ang early-grade literacy programs. Project RISE is a clear example of how collaboration between schools, teachers, and communities can change lives. With the support of the city, we can bring this Mobile Library to life and help thousands of young Iliganon learners discover the joy of reading.

Nakadawat og libreng pabalay sa Upper Hinaplanon, Iligan karong adlawa ang 25 ka pamilya nga nakalinglawas sa Bagyong Sendong. Ang maong proyekto, nga nailhan nga Comprehensive Shelter Assistance Program (CSAP), nagtumong sa paghatag og puy-anan sa mga biktima. Natiwas ang pabalay human mihangyo si Mayor Frederick Siao sa Department of Social Welfare and Development nga dili ibalik ang pundo ngadto sa National Treasury ug tiwason ang proyekto. Kahinumduman nga iuli na unta sa DSWD ang pundo ngadto sa panudlanan sa gobyerno human wala magamit sa pabalay sa miaging administrasyon.

Ang matag housing unit adunay budget nga ₱163,000 (2010 computation). Tungod sa pagtaas sa presyo, midugang ang LGU Iligan og ₱200,000 nga subsidy kada unit aron mahuman ang proyekto. 

Midonar sab og lote ang NHA (National Housing Authority). Ang kinatibuk-ang gasto sa proyekto mikabat sa ₱9,052,038.56. Ang matag unit adunay gidak-on nga 30 sqm. Gisugdan ang konstruksyon niadtong Hulyo 4, 2025, ug nahuman niadtong Disyembre 10, 2025, nga gipatuman sa Lancon Construction Services. 

Gibutyag ni Mayor Frederick Siao nga padayon ang paningkamot sa iyang administrasyon nga mahuman ang tanang CSAP units sa tibuok siyudad.

Gi-inaugurahan Disyembre 1, 2025 ang Primary HIV Care Facility sa City Health Office (CHO) nga nahimutang sa TTMF Del Carmen, tupad sa Super Health Center. 

Ang maong pasilidad nagtinguha sa pagpalig-on sa serbisyong panglawas ug paghatag og mas accessible nga mga serbisyong may kalabotan sa HIV prevention, testing, ug treatment alang sa mga Iliganon.

Gipasiugdahan ang programa sa mga opisyal sa City Health Office uban sa suporta sa Iligan City AIDS Council (ICAC) ug lokal nga kagamhanan.  

Ang bag-ong pasilidad naglakip og HIV counseling, confidential testing, treatment initiation, antiretroviral (ARV) refill, ug health education sessions. 

Gilauman usab nga ang bag-ong pasilidad makatabang sa pagpakunhod sa stigma ug sa pagdasig sa katawhan nga magpa-test ug magpacheck-up kanunay.

Sumala pa ni Dr. Wellaflor Brito, Head sa infectious Disease Cluster DOH Region X, ang pag-abli sa pasilidad usa ka dakong lakang aron mapalig-on ang public health programs sa syudad, ilabi na sa pagpakigbatok sa pagkanap sa HIV ug sa pagsiguro nga adunay igo ug de-kalidad nga serbisyo alang sa tanang pasyente.

Gidapit usab sa City Health Office ang publiko nga suportahan ang maong inisyatiba pinaagi sa pagpalapad sa kahibalo, pagbatok sa diskriminasyon, ug pagpalig-on sa kolaborasyon tali sa komunidad ug mga health workers.
